Pre:Post Holidays Game Night

Pre:Post is a near legendary loung-restuarant in Chelsea that a lot of that is open both before and after clubs in that area open and close….hence, Pre:Post.  Pre-Party and Post-Party.  ….no, not that Pre:Post…..  This past Sunday, we had a Pre:Post party of our own.  All the stars were there!

Pre:Post Holidays Game Night started out of tradition begun by a friend of mine who lives over in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens.  Justin e-mailed (not eVite-ed) to ask us all over for an impromptu game night.  Having never (or rarely) gone to a game night, I was intrigued.  Celebrity was played……:

Justin also set out some treats for us to enjoy.  Also, people brought over things…..ok….wine & beer mostly. : ) Below is a shot of the Game Night goodies at Justin’s:

These are Justin’s two cousin’s who drove all the way in from near Westchester:

So in this grand tradition (and since we all had such a good time), Food City Bytes decided to throw a Pre:Post Holidays Game Night of our own.  Here’s Kristin, Alaina, Nicole, Justin and Aimee gathered around the Trivial Pursuit: Books Edition:

At the beginning of the night, Aimee and I prepared and set out a number of things to nibble on…. tomato and avocado salsa, mixed greek olives, salami, turkey and an assortment of cheeses, m & ms, nut mix, chips and salsa etc.  The star of the evening though, or so Aimee and I thought, was/ would be the chocolate fondue with strawberries, cantaloupe, and apple dippers.  Here’s the spread in the kitchen showing the fondue:

……Aimee’s Moving out of her apt. (as she just bought(!) a new 1bdrm.  Very exciting! (Congrats. to Aimee!) )  and as such is trying to off-load a number of items.  The fondue pot….is a prime example of this (temporary) off-loading: Pre:Post Holidays Game Party, originally uploaded by Brockenbrough Photos.
W
hile the strawberry dippers were pretty popular as were all the other fixings……it was curious that none of the olives were being eaten.  I thought they looked appealing.
FCB: “Yo, why you not be eatin’ the olives?”
Pre:Post Guests: “They look delicious! We like the tomato and

avocado salsa.”
     FCB: “?”
Pre:Post Guests: “Ok, so your cat, Dora, sauntered over here to
the olive dish right after we arrived.  And when you turned your
back to go into the kitchen…well, you cat licked the olives!!”
FCB: “Ha ha! That’s hilarious!  Ok, no more olives.  In the trash
     they go!!”

There were other mini spreads….but sadly less well picked at:
