La Bagel Delight

There are some days when you wake up and you start your walk to the train station or back to your house and you feel that familiar turn of your stomach trying to convince you to stop a moment and grab a greasy bite to eat before rushing off to work. So this morning, I gave in. I went to La Bagel Delight, (122 7th Ave, Park Slope), granted where I’ve gone many time before but never in the breafast arena. So here we are:

I opted for a cinnamon-raisin bagel with strawberry cream cheese, a type of spread that should be mandatory (!) in all bagel joints. De rigueur buddy! Ok, so you say “cream cheese” and “de rigueur” should never the two shall meet in one sentence well I say fooey! Cream cheese is haute (hot) cuisine if we say it is. Yum.

La Bagel Delight is pretty good. I t covers all the basics in terms of selection of bagels and they are made fresh. If you go for lunch, you can choose from a wide selection of deli sandwiches with a variety of Boar’s Head meats.

La Bagel Delight also offers a selection of different salads and warm soups. Toward the entrance, with a good view of passersby, are a couple bar stools and a counter convenient for the quick meal. Their pickles are crisp too. And the prices are reasonable.
